Description
Nathaniel Acton was a wealthy landowner who lived at Bramford near Ipswich. He wears a mauve-brown suit with gold buttons and trim, a white shirt and stock, and a long bob-wig. His left hand is tucked into his waistcoat, a gesture of gentlemanly deportment, and he holds a tricorn hat under his arm. His family seat, Bramford Hall, can just be seen in the distance.
